insideUNEC presents a round up of the major events that happened in UNEC this week.
• SUG BYE- ELECTION- This week, interested candidates picked forms for vacant SUG positions. Currently the positions of the Directors of Welfare and Socials are vacant. The date of the election is yet to be announced.
• ASUU Embarks on 2- week strike- The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday embarked on a two-week warning strike over non-payment of salaries of lecturers who failed to enrolled in the Federal Government’s Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) and other outstanding arrears and payment.
• Late Course Registration Portal Re-opens: Portal for late course registration Re-opened. If you were unable to register your course when it was earlier opened, kindly do so within the next period as it closes on Tuesday, 17th March.
• Matriculation: The 45th Matriculation Ceremony of the University of Nigeria, has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 28th.
• The Vice Chancellor had a meeting with CLASS REPs and Assistants in UNEC. In the meeting, he emphasised on the need to remain ICT orientated. To that effect, we'll be doing some online verification as well as the creation of blogs. More information will be passed on subsequently.
