Yesterday, Thursday February 13th, 2020, history eas made as University of Nigeria becomes the first tertiary institution to conduct its SUG election biometrically. Student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka converged at the Nnamdi Azikwe Library to elect members of the Executive and Legislative council of the Students' Union Government.
At about 9 pm, accreditation of voters began and followed by biometrics Election; the first of its kind in any Nigerian University. About 30,000 voters registered for the elections, unfortunately voters who turned up were not up to 9,000.
After the conclusion of the voting exercise, the following candidates emerged winners:

The offices of the Vice President and General Secretary were vacant as the candidates were earlier disqualified.
The office of the Dean has advised winners not to celebrate yet as it awaits results of security screening.
