Deteriorating State of Ibiam Hostel Toilets

The centre cannot hold; things flow apart. This is the current state of 100 series toilet of Lady Ibiam Hostel, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

Assessment by insideUNEC reveals that the sewage system of the series toilet is in a sorry state; thus making it possible for toilet  waste flow into the passage.
Apart from  waste flowing into the

passage and in front of occupants room; the bad odour is not conducive.
It is also important to note that if the deteriorating state of other Hostels is not looked into, this could be the condition of our bathrooms and toilets.

Disease-causing germs can be spread from sewage if it is not disposed of properly or if people do not practise proper toilet hygiene (cleanliness). If a sewage disposal system is not properly maintained it will not be able to get rid of the sewage safely. For a sewage system to be properly maintained, all faulty (blocked, damaged, broken or worn-out) parts must be mended as soon as possible after they stop working correctly.
