Proposed Timetable for SUG Election

PROPOSED TIMETABLE FOR SUG ELECTION

 

The University of Nigeria Electoral Commission has submitted a proposed timetable for Students Union Government elections 2019/2020 to the Vice Chancellor.

 The proposed timetable was contained in a memo sent to the VC from the UNECO Secretariat signed by the Dean Students'affairs, Prof. Edwin Omeje who is also the Chairman of the UNECO.

Below is the proposed time table.

MONDAY, JANUARY 6, 2020: 

-Registration of voters at facultylevel/collection of nomination forms begins for SUG/Hall Government.

MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2020:

-End for Return of Completed Forms.

WEDNESDAY,  JANUARY 15, 2020:

-Screening of Candidates for Hall Government & Publication of Cleared candidates/Campaign begins @4pm

THURSDAY, JANUARY 16- FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2020:

-Screening of Candidates for SUG EXCO & publications of cleared candidates 

FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2020:

-Campaign begins for Cleared SUG EXCO candidates

MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2020:

-Election of Hall Government and Announcement of results.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2020:

-CBT-based screening examination for SUG election (EXCO, senate, House of Representatives and announcement of results)

MONDAY, JANUARY 27-FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2020:

-Screening of all candidates

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3-FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2020, BY 9:AM

-Oral Interview

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2020:

-End of Voters registration Exercise

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2020,:

Publication of Voters Register and publication of cleared candidates/campaign begins.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2020:

-Manifesto & campaign ends by 12:midnight. Presidential Debate @ LION FM

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 13- 2020:

-ELECTION BY E-VOTING & announcement of results.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14-MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2020:

- Filing of Appeal

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19-THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2020:

-Tribunal Meet & Conclude on all petitions

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2020,

Swearing In By the Vice chancellor, University of Nigeria

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2020:

-Retreat for the elected SUG EXCO And leaders of the both houses.
