A Lassa fever case admitted into the accident and emergency unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital has been confirmed dead.
In an announcement by the Chief Medical Director on the 30th of January 2019,
"a case of Lassa fever came in today and died in our accident and emergency".
According to the CMD, the teaching hospital is currently tracing contacts and also working with the Enugu Epidemiology Team and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) .
